Former WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded guilty Friday to assaulting her ex-girlfriend, the Fulton County District Attorney said.

Holdsclaw, 35, of Smyrna, pleaded guilty as charged to two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage in the first degree, two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

She was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to pay a $3,000, DA Paul Howard said. Holdsclaw pleaded guilty in March before entering her guilty plea Friday as part of a plea deal.

Holdsclaw was arrested in November after she allegedly smashed the windows of a Range Rover belonging to WNBA player Jennifer Lacy, who told Atlanta police she was Holdsclaw’s ex-girlfriend, according to police. Holdsclaw allegedly smashed the driver’s side window, a rear passenger’s window and the rear window before pulling out a gun and firing a shot into the SUV, according to police.

A 9mm shell casing was found in the area, but no one was injured. Holdsclaw surrendered and was booked into the Fulton County jail, where she stayed for two days before being released on $100,000 bond.

“According to the terms of the plea agreement, Holdsclaw must avoid violent contact with the victim, complete anger management treatment, and perform 120 hours of community service speaking with youth about depression, overcoming adversity and the consequences of one’s actions,” Howard said in an emailed statement. “She must also relinquish all firearms.”

Holdsclaw played 12 seasons in the WNBA, including one year with the Atlanta Dream, in 2009. Lacy plays for the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock and played for the Dream in 2008 and 2009.

Holdsclaw was the No. 1 selection in the 1999 draft after a four-year career at Tennessee, where she led the Lady Vols to three consecutive national championships.
